Saturday 27 November 1999 – The return 1/2
I waked up at 6:30 for leaving at 7 O’clock. Some news persons get on the bus with us, because a lot primary people carried on their trip to Darwin. Theresa came to apologize about her behavior of the last evening. She said she was sorry because it wasn’t her affairs (it’s quite right that!!!). But it didn’t stop her to steal my sit So I had to sit down in the middle of the bus.
Anyway, we were driving to Coober Pedy. On the road we saw, like every time, a lot of eagles, some red kangaroos and, of course the famous road trains!! These trucks are length till 53m and weight till 115 tones. It’s very impressive when they overtake you.

We stopped for pitstop at Erlunda, Kulgera and Marla before to reach Coober Pedy. It was boring to drive so much.
For the dinner at John’s pizza and drinks in the underground bar of course

Sunday 28 November 1999 – The return 2/2
We left at 6 O’clock. So you can imagine that I spelt during all the drive of course. We stopped at Glendambo, Port Augusta and Port Wakefield before to reach Adelaide at 5:45pm

One word about Glendambo: We arrived the morning (11am) of a very big party, especially for young people. There were a lot of “cowboys” with leather hats and leather shoes. They were mostly still drunk and dirty. I do remember especially one who was walking with his cowboy shoes and hat, wearing only a lighting red underpants and holding his trousers on his shoulder. And he was completely covered by a dry mud. Most of the people was like him: dirty, wit torn shirt, driving big pick-up with big engine (and some “personal” set), but all the time smiling (Australian people are very friendship). I’ve never seem something like this. Maybe they had done some drag races besides drinks.

So we arrived to Adelaide in the end of the afternoon. After some goodbye, I parted with others people coming to my house.

This trip was fabulous and I’ve never realized what the word “desert” meant. I saw some incredible landscapes and had the occasion to meet the Australian outback during more than 3400km. I’ll regret one thing. It felt too short!!
